The UK Medical Innovation Competition is open exclusively to verified healthcare professionals registered with the General Medical Council or relevant professional bodies.

Mandatory Verification Required

All submissions undergo mandatory GMC number verification. Submissions from non-verified professionals will be rejected. Processing time: 2-5 business days.

Professional Registration

Current registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or relevant UK professional body (e.g., HCPC for licensed technicians). GMC number must be provided and will be verified.

UK Practice Location

Current practice within a UK healthcare institution. NHS and private practice professionals are eligible.

Innovation Originality

Submitted innovation must be your original work or developed under your direct supervision. Prior publication does not disqualify entry.

Ethical Compliance

All innovations must comply with GMC ethical guidelines and relevant UK healthcare regulations. Human subject research must have appropriate ethical approval.

Content Requirements

  • Innovation title must be concise, professional, and accurately descriptive (maximum 100 characters)
  • Description must explain the clinical problem, innovation methodology, and measurable outcomes (200-500 words)
  • Category selection must accurately reflect the primary clinical domain
  • All medical terminology must follow standard nomenclature

Language and Presentation

  • Content must be in English with proper grammar and professional medical language
  • Avoid promotional language; focus on clinical efficacy and evidence
  • Patient identifiers must be completely removed from all materials

Verification and Review Process

Once approved, your entry will be published to the competition gallery and become available for public voting. You will receive notification via email.

Note on Rejection

Submissions that do not meet eligibility criteria or guideline requirements will be rejected with specific feedback. You may resubmit after addressing the noted issues.
